Fire Alarm

FireĀ
No alarmsĀ
Just charmsĀ
Arms of othersĀ
No masks onĀ
WHO GIVES A FUCKĀ
we all get alongĀ
We don’t need parentsĀ
We have noĀ
PRINCIPLESĀ
ā€œdetentionā€
WE ALL BELONGĀ
among the flameĀ
among the smokeĀ
We all get lostĀ
in theĀ
FLAMEĀ

I liked this Rob, life can feel like we are playing with fire. I think many of us get lost in the smoke and flames. ā€œWe don’t need parentsā€ to me this was like ā€œwe don’t need guidanceā€ very clever. We can get a little head strong at times. We don’t always realise we are adding fuel to the fire, making life harder for ourselves.A punchy poem cleverly crafted :)Ā

Being Me

I sense real bitterness in this. A disillusionary (is that even a word?) write. Pain aside, we are our own true navigators in our lives. An interesting and deceptively deep poem. Well written x
