First Date

A genuine smile; an enchanting gaze, 
In your glittering eyes reflects my amaze,
With perfect lines meshed tight to my own,
Your kisses narcotic and passion made known,
Stirs deeply within me; churns memories lost,
Of life lived with love disregarding the cost,
Where joy overflows and its rivers can run,
Between two hearts; beating as one,
A voice anew my own hopes to find,
With vision you gave to emotions gone blind.

The potential too young for us quite yet to grasp,
Will appear in time and through questions we ask,
Of the heart and the soul as we both give and take,
If life before this night might Venus remake?
Know to be yours with all I can be,
Is a treasure and privilege I wonder to see,
No number of years could justice ever do,
Such a perfect gift; a blessing from you,
I will patiently wait for these things to uncover,
Though I dream of a day as your best friend and lover.
