First Impressions and Picasso's Eyes

First Impressions and Picasso's Eyes

First Impressions and Picasso’s Eyes.

I am not a first impression.

I am not just the corner of a canvas,

but the exclamation

(!)

in your thoughts.

I am the paint, the pencil, the hands that made and unmade me.

I am what bleeds from the fabric and the fingers

and marks my way across mediums.

I am picasso's eyes and van gogh’s hearing.

I am not the first impression-

I am when you turn back and take in the view.

I am art in it’s entirety and worth more than the barest of a glance.

When you see me the first time,

Get a good look,

And then turn back and open your hands for all of me.
