Poem -
Forever
Forever is something I'll never witness,
Although these sentences, and paragraphs will forever live,
Inherited by your eyes,
Mimicked from your memory with your lips,
Transforming a piece of myself throughout you,
As if I was meant for eternity,
Therefore birthing forever existence,
Otherwise it's my DNA,
Bleeding inside the veins of forever,
Resembling me just as forever was my precious child,
So you see forever; is my Legacy!!

If we are fortunate enough to become published poets or authors of prose, as I have been, I feel we become immortalized in a sense.
Would anyone today even know or care who Edgar Allan Poe was had he not been a talented American Gothic poet?
Yet even today, his work is scrutinized, dissected and studied by people all over the globe.
That, my friend, is a legacy worth aiming for!

Thanks Dean! Well it seems that you have given birth to your forever. I hope to achieve my goal of becoming a published poet. It would be amazing to see my book upon someone's bookshelf, or the chance to have my work noticed world wide. I believe I could accept my demise happily. Knowing I've left a my mark on this Earth..
