Fortitude

After what has happened to me

I see everything far more clearly

The road I travelled was so rough

But I was capable and strong enough

Withstanding all the sorrow and pain ,

I would not want to face it all again !

But life will further put me to the test

So, I am thankful for the calm and rest

Recuperated, preparing for what lies ahead

The future fills me with a sense of dread

Will I remain as determined and steadfast ?

I take comfort from my fortitude in the past !
