Poem -

Found

There was a time,

when my people covered this land

the mountains, hills and rivers;

free as the sea

now, these places are only a memory

now, we have nothing to lose,

and nothing to gain

Your skin is not my skin,

your God not my God;

how then can we be brothers?

sacred be their resting place,

and hallowed be their grave;

the pale faces on a stone

mine dwelling, unforgotten,

white man will never be alone

for the dead are not powerless

Day and Night cannot dwell together,

how then can we be brothers?

our destiny reigns with the Great spirit,

your destiny reigns with your God;

Tribe follows Tribe,

Nation follows Nation
