Found Anew

Because we all suffer some indignities
I hope you bear me no ill wishes
As our die is cast
We must address our past
Though I still long for your kisses.
When you peel an onion, think of me
Washed clean of earth and mud,
Let go your tears
We can curtail all fears
And find the best way to make good.
Because weary folk must have eye for eye,
Shame to leave the whole world blind,
When you at last are free
I hope youβll come to me
Rejoice anew in what we find
