Starcrossed
It was while we were having dinner one night
That I told her we could not be friends.
And though wild horses could not drag me away,
There is no way of making amends.
Of course she knew why, I'd told her myself,
It's a crime just one person can bear;
But in telling the truth, I'd created a bond
When others had not even cared.
But the truth is there's never real friendship
To say so is just a plain lie;
Only we can ever know our real selves
And take them with us to the grave
When we die.
So we agreed, we'd abandon our kinship,
To not be beheld to the other;
And silently walked hand in hand through the park
Forever sworn to be lovers.

Interestingly cryptic, oh I do love when poets such as yourself are able to express a vivid message though little words and explanation. I hope you find happiness embraced in those hands! Lot going on in this one
Thanks :)
