Four Days To Eternity

For my beautiful Soulmate Linda, on this, our Silver Wedding Anniversary
.
This day is very special, so “Silver”, one might say;
For it has been now exactly twenty-five years, since our Blessed Wedding Day!
There is a tale that precedes it though, so remarkable, to say the least;
It starts eight months before our marriage, when on a lass, my eyes did feast!
.
It was at a singles Thursday party, I asked if she cared to dance;
We stayed together for three hours, kissed goodnight and felt romance!
We made a date for Friday evening, we ate dinner and kissed some more;
When we parted, there were feelings, that we had never felt before!
.
The next day was Halloween night, we met at a costume party fete;
We kissed and danced for hours, knew together to be, we were meant!
We went to an all-night diner, ate a little and snuggled close;
Kissed goodnight, and met a little later, no time for much repose!
.
We rendezvoused near the expressway, she parked and with me rode;
We drove up to beautiful Rockport, our passions there explode!
We kissed for an hour by the ocean, then got clam chowder to warm us up;
Then we decided to drive to Boston, and sip hot Sake out of cups!
.
We went down to Benihanas, and consumed about a quart;
Then we sat at the Teppanyaki, our inebriation, food to thwart!
We drove back to where her car was, we kissed and said goodnight;
We were meeting on Monday evening, to say what we both knew was right!
.
I was waiting in her driveway, when she returned back home from work;
We kissed and held so closely, our hearts and Souls berserk!
We went in for shrimp and Champagne, then pledged our love fore’er;
Just four short days to Eternity, happened to this everlasting pair!

                               It took but four days
                         To pledge our love forever
