FOUR GENTLEMEN

Four sharp suited gentlemen thought of a plan 
How to obtain the takings of a Post Office van 
Always arrived at Midland Road just before eight 
These four gentlemen would be laying in wait 
Ready and waiting to spring a surprise attack 
The gentlemen knew they'd be no turning back 

A week next Monday the date agreed and set 
Everything in the finest detail I'm willing to bet 
Each of the four gentlemen had a role to play 
All of them excited for this most eventful day 
The leader then decided to adjourn the meeting 
All of the gentlemen rose and left their seating 

The big day finally arrived the gentlemen ready 
All of their nerves were relaxed and steady 
Just before eight there was a really big surprise 
Something the four gentlemen didn't realise 
Today was a Bank Holiday where nobody works
The four gentlemen looked like fools and berks
