Death From Above

A woman died today, you do not know her name
A child will die this day, the young suffer all the same
A family will question why, they must witness eachother die
A fathers pride cannot hide, the pain that he feels inside
Another house will be destroyed, as more soldiers are deployed
Another innocent little boy, a hand grenade will be his first toy
When the casualties of war, find living has became a chore
Should we as humans not question why, we trust that man inna nice suit nd tie?
When innocent homes become battlegrounds, and families wake to the siren sounds
And people rejoice in defeat, as they lay dying in the street
Allow your bottom lip to tremor, bow your head and remember
Though you do not know his name, a man will die today
A family home will be reduced to dust, yet politicians will claim this a must
Global leaders continue to wage war, lining their pockets with blood of the poor
From a family a child will be torn away, is it not time we make a change?
Why do we insist on dropping bombs, and killing children in their mothers arms?
Whilst we sit taking life for granted, families on the streets have to take what's handed
World leaders sit in their ivory towers, when children lie wanting to cry and cower
The headline reads that we're winning the war, but refuses to tell you about the poor
We sit at home and cheer our soldiers, when the weight of a war lies on their shoulders
So what you've read has made you heart broken, then keep your mind open
And imagine seeing what they've saw, spare a thought for the real casualties of war
