Poem -

Frozen

Frozen

Icicles hang
Temporarily melted by low winter sun
Under the pristine crystal skies
You and I hung
ย

Crystalline...
Like metamorphosing butterflies
Webs of intricate thoughtย
Are simultaneously spun

At night we're stunned
By the unfiltered cosmosย
In its ultimate wisdom

No pressure of life
No consequence of decisionย

The stars are the headlampsย
Resurrected by the crisp air
We are the paralysed and mystifiedย
The rabbits in the cross hairs
ย
Grateful...
We care not, the why, when nor how

Time and emotions areย frozen
Starstruck..You and I
Lazily gliding through the mirrored still ocean

What wisdom lingers here?ย
In the pauses between thoughts...
What currents guide us here?
My fellow cosmonauts

Absolutely STUNNING!!......... poetic webs of philosophical truisms!!...... the phrasing here is SO well considered.... and so thematic that it begs for a counter-referencing!! ~

Thank you Tony. Your comments are always awesome. This poem is partly inspired by the dreadful weather sweeping across the US.

Stay safe and warm. - Syd xoย

It's comments like this that keep me writing. The answer to your question is that I often write from experience...if I'm feeling stressed or down then it comes out in my writing.

Now and again I'll write something half decent.

Thank you for the uplifting comment.

Nigel Cresswell...

Syd, absolutely fantastic mate. Being warm looking through windows we can get the beauty of winter. Having to go to the shops a very different matter. Really like this, pinned,

My Dear Friend Syd,

This poem, to me, is the best one I have ever read by you.
It is powerful, and loaded with beautiful passion.
I don't pin many, but this one I certainly did.
Congratulations on your masterpiece.

Love,
Larry xxx
