" GENIUS DIVIDED "

" GENIUS DIVIDED "

I could rehearse, If only I dared
Convey the brushstrokes of nature's paint
With Dali's intent, a canvas rare
A schizophrenic, artistic, complaint
Of brightest day, morosely conveyed...

Inside of myself, with raging mind
The happiness so sad is set apart
A phantom loss, the snake reminds
But my pen can't recall, words from the heart
Of brightest day, locked away in the dark...

I could rehearse, If I could only remember
To match the candle with the colorful sun
But my minds medication distorts the clever
Where my master insists, the bell be rung
And sudden inspiration manifests as a song
That's already been sung...

AUTHOR WILLIAMS...

Hi Brother Poet Tony,

Good write, my applause, Many of history's most celebrated creative geniuses were mentally depressed and insane, from renowned artists Vincent van Gogh and Frida Kahlo to literary giants Virginia Woolf and Edgar Allan Poe. Today, the fabled connection between genius and madness is no longer merely anecdotal. Mounting research shows these two extremes of the human mind really are correlated.

I love the below lines

Inside of myself, with raging mind
The happiness so sad is set apart
A phantom loss, the snake reminds
But my pen can't recall, words from the heart
Of brightest day, locked away in the dark...

Love & Hugs

Hello Tony...

I have found it very interesting that so many geniuses in their own right have had different challenges...

Some were mentally challenged being autistic, dyslexic, schizophrenic as you mentioned...

Their abilities so amazing and...

When I see a disabled person and they are with a caregiver...

The person is quick to discuss their weakness...

I don't talk about that...

I ask them...

What are their strengths?

I think I am just more fond of...

The shock expressions...

LOL!

Great write my friend!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs and Smiles!

Hi Tony... I didn`t  know how to comment on this poem after reading
it, I thought for awhile, and then i re read it just now and saw Kimmy`s
comment, I didn`t know the word ekphrastic meant so i looked up,
ekphrastic poem. It is a perfect way to describe this piece(Thanks Kimmy)
for i had not the words, I also looked up on Salvador Dali
I had known  little of him,but knew some  some of his art
i wanted to know about him the man,
So i have learned much from your write.and was able to
enjoy it.more...there surely is a fine line between sanity and insanity
Thank you for sharing i enjoyed and learnt too  Hugs Debs xo
