Ghost Town Of Cosmofunnel

Ode To Cherie Leigh

Ghost Town Of Cosmofunnel

I think I am
alone
now

Not too many
of us
left

When "Being Me"
flees
I will
throw in
theĀ
towel

Cosmofunnel
is becoming
a
literary
Ghost Town

The Contest
is all
butĀ
forsaken

ItĀ
only
served
as a
mirage
toĀ
Newcomers
anyway

I still though
remember
a
time
in which
I woke
up
several times
a
night

opening
the pages
of cosmofunnel
with excitement
to read
new entries
from my poetic community

Today
not so
much

the greats
are fading
away

the newbies
no longer
have the guiding hand
OfĀ
Cherie
or
Merrill
to lead
the
way

FeathersĀ
now

only flies
in
for a moment

just a state
of silence

Kinda of sad
if you
thinkĀ  about it.....

Agree with Jill, Tony's comments, poems and encouragement are priceless! It has become much lonelier without the people who have left.

Being Me

Oh I never saw this Greg!Ā  So sorry I missed it!Ā  At the time you wrote this it was a bit of a ghost town, I agree. I was thinking the same. It has picked up a lot now though. There some brilliant pieces being posted and people are commenting more.

I do miss Cherie on here as do many others. She ALWAYS commented on those that supported her aswell as the newcomers. But she may very well be back one day.Ā

I won't leave here!Ā  I am busy writing other things at the moment so writing poetry is not that high up on my agenda right now. I flung a quickie together a few nights ago "About A Poem" but other than that I am tending to just pop on and read and comment on those that strike a chord or I enjoyed reading. (Although I refuse to read anything written by anyone who sends me a weird - and not very nice DM).

I also miss Dean Kuch on here. Amazing, Amazing poet. But I believe he died... Nov 2019 so sad and such a monumental loss to poetry. There are others too I miss. But Dean's poetry was simply superb.... now there WAS a poetry genius.

Anyway, I digress, I love how you worded this lament for Cosmo!Ā  Don't leave Greg!!Ā  We need more REAL on Cosmo...both in poetry AND comments āš˜x
