Ghouls of the Night

Ghouls prowl the nights, as the owls turn their heads
Hungry are the dead moaning through hollow pumpkin lanterns
A shimmering haunting light shines from their porches
The full moon entises the witches to stir up the brew in their black kettle pots
One spider, two bat eyes, the tongue of a toad, rats tail in a smothering boil it rots
Candy's in the bowl, caramel apples and popcorn balls wrapped up tight
A dark and dingy house, though they giggle and ring the door bell once and then twice
The door opens fast a skeletal arm and hand reaches out with fright
They drop their bags and run as fast as they can through the crackling of the leaves
Running through the shadows, their costumes drenched in fear
As the wolf howls to the ebony of darkness amongst the trees, you can feel him breathe
All kinds of surprises prowling on this foggy Halloween eve, the devil speaks with his spear
As the living dead hunger the graves shake and the earth breaks
The wind wrestles with it's might to the sounds of the ghouls of the night
