The Girl From Kilmeaden

Her leaving cert was over all went well for her

She was quite a student no more mam's and sir

Said she'd like to travel enjoy life while she can

She was off to Spain but into Eta she ran

Wrote back to her parents this on her second day

She had lot's to tell she had lot's to say

She wrote about the people she wrote about the sun

She wrote about the things of the things she'd done

This girl was only eighteen when she took this trip

She didn't know that Spain was tight in Eta's grip

No one had ever told her be careful where you go

This girl of many A levels this girl she wasn't slow

She got on board a bus the sights there to enjoy

She didn't know that day she was going to die

Than Eta gone on too with killing on their mind

It was a suicide bomber police this girl would find

Her parents back in Eire this news were first to hear

As the Gardi told them her mother shed a tear

They said paramedic's couldn't just couldn't stop her bleeding

Said how brave their daughter this young girl from Kilmeaden
