gladiator’s prey…

(who will pray for me?)

gladiator’s prey…

“Who will pray for me? Take my pain for me? Save my soul for me? Because I'm alone, you see...If I'm going to die for you...if I'm going to kill for you...then I'll spill this blood for you...”

I prayed to the Gods of war and bloodshed for strength in this fight
I prayed to the Goddesses of love and protection with all of my might
but in the end, I am a gladiator, a warrior…and a prisoner. I fight with chains-around my ankles
I fight with the crowd at my back-throwing stones and hurling abuse for the brains I lack
My opponent is whatever or whoever walks through the opening gates across from me
My enemy varies in size, species, and sex…I have slain them all; they cannot see me fall
for in the end, I am a gladiator, a warrior…and a murderer. I have fought many and killed more
My creed is now death, to all who fall prey to my bloody blade

Ripples in the dark

Evening quiet rules the room,
incense curling up (scenting our space)
calms me down after all...

Time is our Frenemy

Time is our Frenemy

We can learn anything we want

but there will never ever be enough time

to learn it all.

WILLIAMSJI MAVELI WRITES....

TWO TENDER BUDS

WILLIAMSJI MAVELI WRITES....

Upon the bough, so gracefully they lean,
Two tender buds, in robes of nascent green.
