GODCHILD
You cannot choose your family,
for it is a bunch of people that come into your life so naturally.
But you can choose a godmother,
a special link to your golden chain,
who won't let you walk in the pouring rain
when you're throbbing in pain.
It's seven years ago today,
when your parents asked me 'to be'
without hesitation I said "okay"
How could I refuse when you flashed that smile on me .
Shine like a star wherever you are.
You don't have to be a national or international star.
You don't have to have riches, status, or fame,
because in God’s eyes we are all the same.
You're oozing with potential that will take you
to another level
and a diamond luster,
with joy, love, and laughter
under the guidance

Thanks Merrill. This is my surprise birthday gift for her... she's my 2nd Goddaughter abroad. I have 14 godchildren back home, a valid reason to hide under the Christmas tree on Christmas LOL

Such a beautiful tribute to your dear Godchild. We have a Great Granddaughter, almost the exact same age, having turned seven a few weeks ago. We went to her surprise Birthday party, with about thirty or more people.

A beautiful mind, is always so easy to read.
We actually have six great grandchildren, all within fifty miles. Three of them, including the Birthday girl, are local.
