Going To School In Heaven

Going To School In Heaven

I would be taught many things, what love brings,
but difficult to fly without a pair of wings,
I was instructed in compassion and forgiveness,
to cherish, value, adore and gently caress.

They said that I would go to the stars and other places,
no one knew that an angel's heart races;
my friends Gabriel and Michael were so clever,
I completed my 'heavenwork' with their endeavour.

Anne and Catherine said: 'Be careful what you fly in,
not too loose clothing, in case you get in a 'flap,'
when you've settled, you can give your own instruction,
then deliver your pearls of wisdom, ad infinitum.'

I graduated with flying colours - blue, white and gold,
so that I couldn't be seen in the sunset, I was told.

Charming write.j.love.that.last.line. Adopting certain colors so they wouldn't be seen in a sunset.  Cute and interesting idea.
Great write

Great story, short and sweet. I liked the angel story having to go to school.

Favorite Lines:

I graduated with flying colours - blue, white and gold,
so that I couldn't be seen in the sunset, I was told.

The ending is my favorite part, like a surprise. The angel didn't know that he would become invisible against the light. Maybe because he was now translucent as a spirit/angel? That is how I read it.

Good job again!

Thanks Katina - yes, you're right.
The angel disappears but is always there.

Thank you for clarifying. Sometimes a metaphor goes right past me. I really enjoyed the story.

This is a great piece I am an angel lover
always felt I had one with me.  Even to this day I love to think the  ethereal beings are with us and for us
