Gone With God

My Mummy has now gone with God
She died peacefully in her sleep
The love I had for  Mummy
Was ever so true and deep

I feel an overwhelming sadness
But I'm comforted to know
That she is now in Heaven
She was tired and ready to go

I really was so very blessed
To have such a loving Mother
She truly was the most loveliest lady
I'd never have wanted no other

I never doubted her love for me
I felt the warmth from her heart
She always gave me lots of cuddles
And she’d miss me when we were apart

I asked the Lord not to let her suffer
He listened and answered my prayer
He came to take her in the night
Said, “come Jessie” into my care

He held her hand, walked her up the stairs
Took her through the heavenly gate
Beautiful music was playing for  Mum
Other Angels were there to await

As I look to the sky every night
I'll blow you a goodnight kiss
Oh dearest Mummy, you were the best
Who forever and ever I’ll miss.
