I would like to express my gratitude and sincere thanks 
To an English footballer in the name of Gordon Banks 
Gordon was a goalkeeper both brave and strong
He would make world class saves all day long 

England's World Cup glory in 1966 was Gordon's too 
Gordon's hands that day were made of glue 
All the more amazing as Gordon lost the sight of one eye 
Rest in peace Gordon as today was your turn to die 

The save he made against Pele was the best of all time 
A fitting way to end this tribute by way of a rhyme
