Grandma's Voice

Grandma's Voice

Grandmas voice wasn’t just any voice
It was hers, it was mine, it was peaceful
She had a dominant tone, it was delightful
Whenever she talked, people always listened
She was serious, but also a jokester
Her voice plays in my head like a radio
What I would do just to hear her say “Hello”
Her voice was something I always cherished
Because I didn’t get to hear it often
Whenever she spoke to me, My heart would soften
Hearing her voice will always be a memory
And to me memories are forever, not temporary
I miss hearing her voice and the way she laughed
I miss her on the phone saying things like
“I don’t know” or “Okay, I’ll let you go”
“I love and miss you, I love and miss you too”
I wish I had her voice recorded
Because I can still feel the emptiness
And I can honestly say, I’m still a mess
Although her voice was one of a kind
It’s a voice I always hear in my mind
God, I sure do miss my Grandmas Voice
