I'm going to eventually

Let them drown

Because I fight to be

So quit trying

to underestimate me

I'm done being

Pushed to the ground

I'm done listening

To the words that

You slur and spit around

I'm done watching

You cover me in shame

Making it hard for me

To come to terms

With who I am now

And making it even

Harder to talk

Or make a sound

I am now a bridge

With deep waters below me

In order to get

Over something

You have to go through it

I'm learning how to swim

Again with my head held higher

But if I keep being tested

You will soon find your fate

Being dragged to the bottom

Of the under tow below me

I'm a storm with waters

I'm a storm with multiple weathers

I'm a storm with soft, silky feathers

I'm a storm with a spitting tongue

I am trying to do better

I am trying to be better

But the testing of my inner waves

Are coming in to view too quick

I am the storm so I know

That I'll survive this

Because I am the waters

I am the bridge

I am the person I am today

Because I built myself up

From the bottom

Back to the top

I am troubled waters

And I can choose to do right

Or I can choose to do wrong

I am trying to learn how

To be tall again

So please don't splash

Around in my souls inner waters

Please don't riptide my peace

I am the storm

I am the waters

But I am also the calm

I am also the peace

So please just stop testing me

And you won't have to drown

Anywhere underneath me

I am troubled waters

And I know how to drown you out

But that's not the life

I'm trying to live,

or think about.
