GRASPING AT STRAWS

GRASPING AT STRAWS

Sometimes in the isolation, all you have are straws....

You fall to the ground
Knowing you can go no further
They have made grave mistakes
Crossing every human boarder
Now you stand with shaking hands
Grasping at air
You hear an echo in  the darkness
God’s light is on, it's still shining here

You look in the mirror
And see two lost reflections
The broken one that’s looking back
Knows a silent life filled with rejections
You hold your shaking hands high
Still grasping at air
You shout, help me dear Father
Are you still there?

You’ve walked into walls
Bouncing off all their chaos
You remember your lost children
Recalling so much more sad loss
You stretch your shaking hands out
Still grasping at air
And hear, believe, come back to life child
God loves you and cares

You’ve walked into closed doors
Bouncing off their destruction
You remember your lost faith
Recalling the true cost
You raise your shaking hands
Still grasping at air
And, you hear a long ago echo
God is still beside you child, erasing all the fear...
