Gratefully Yours

Gratefully Yours

Written May '85 when I was 14

I'm gratefully yours while the skies burn blue.
My heart's full of love and my mind dreams of you.
To see you at night with the moon in your eyes,
to kiss your soft lips, I finally realize,
that the love that you feel must be from above,
brought down from the heavens on the wings of a dove.

It brings us together; we share every breath.
Our love will live on, in life or in death.
How happy we are, so young and carefree.
Just open my heart, for you have the key.
The key to my heart, which you can control
I'm gratefully yours, my heart and my soul.

****************************

I know it's a bit sappy, but I was 14 and "in love."
