Great Ormond Street

Child friendly distasteful walls
kept going and going
Like a tunnel
I adjusted my funnel.
Rushed nurses running around
from room to room
With plastic gloves
"Don't worry my love."
My mum squeezed my hand
we slowed and stopped
She lifted me out my chair
Held me in her arms and stroked my hair.
We walked through the halls
looking into the next room
A little girl lay in bed
Pale skin and little hair on her head.
My eyes grew blurry
with drops of my tears
That could of been me...
I looked away, I didn't want to see.
"Sweetheart don't cry...
you're going home
be happy for health
you saved yourself."
"Love is strong
stronger than you'd believe
spread some joy and kindness
and the sick and angry will mind less."
"This chapter is over
but remember this
respect that you give
will make life easier to live."

i think worthy of a nomination,
best wishes Jai :)
Thank you Jai, so kind of you!
I spent some considerable time in Great Ormond St. Hospital and remember feeling lucky I had what I had and nothing worse like the girl in the next ward or the next room.
And to you!
Thanks so much Michael!
