Grim Reaper

Grim Reaper

I’m holding my breath

Fear starts to rise

The Grim Reaper draws near

Like a thief in the night

Is he coming for me

Did I miss all the signs

He floats past my bed

And passes me by

Breathing again

A tear leaves my eye

The Grim reaper moves on

It isn’t my time

Filled with relief

I can’t help but smile

He turned back and mouthed

I’ll be back in a while

Shocked and dismayed

I shook in my bed

Rocked to my core

By the words he had said

Panic within

I stifled a scream

Woke up in a sweat

THANK GOD IT’S A DREAM
