Rape, death, suicide, pain
Hunger, cold, hot summer days
Don't ask what I don't understand
Just know I've lived it and here I am
No understanding why, but learning still

Those with deep pain and suffering
Do more than survive
Live life loving being alive
Remember the ones that didn't survive
Be thankful to not understand why
Look for good in others
Don't participate in sin
Don't pass judgement
Partial truths are sometimes like lies

Always been told I was pretty
But I won't forget where I've been
Thank God I'm still alive
When everyone thought I might be dead
I've just learned to smile all over again
How many times has it been?

I don't understand life at all
Guess I've done ok so far
God's love still controls my soul
Deep in my hidden soul
Love still controls

Poor, loss, sickness still
Hell that's life - just don't give up
