Promises of Love

And once more unto him the punishment came
Deserving he should be for sins unpaid
Yet how must one deal with this terrible pain?
No temptation isย worth perpetual shame
The mistake hasย been made
In mortal flesh he must endure
His shameful remorse of a life laid waste
In cowardly demise, his pain premature
She should have left, she should have gone
For she would be free and her doom be gone
Fate is not a word in which I believe
But one might say that it intervened
An oath was swore, so the bond was strong
He betrayed his lover, her faith left uncertain
She searches her soul for the promise of love eternal
But forgiveness is unyielding
For wounds delivered cannot be undone

Poems wrote from experience, have a way of healing in themselves. Sometimes people are so stubborn and unwilling to forgive. I have learned that forgiveness is an attribute of the strong. Rise above Flower Girl, allowing yourself to ask for forgiveness is a release of self, your dignity is put on the line - it takes strength to make yourself vulnerable. I'm glad you liked it. Thank you for the comments xx
Highly romantic and enchanting write, my applause
