~Hades~

~Hades~

Caliginous tis the world below,
Breadth of quag & briny deep,
Abode lamented always go,
Ride the river to Hades keep.

Sentry hound amidst the bank,
Twixt the styx where Charon rows,
Three heads in watch for souls whom sank,
Endless current in darkness flows.

Two coins bestow the ferryman,
Thy host n Lord of death & rest,
Watcher of souls of everyman,
Escape is null but be my guest.

Ruler of the never realm,
Cerberus a faithful pet,
No greater sombre at the helm,
Loves thy sin & regret.

A Lonely Journey

Simon,
That's awesome, my friend! Darker than dark, but so well written.
Quite harrowing!

Thanks my friend, love trying new things, I get bored easily and love to write about anything and everything! How are you doing? Good I hope.

Hey SIMON!!...this is friggin' Great man!!…..although I often think that the succinct & staccato style of phrasing takes away from the potential that every line of poetry has inherently at its birth.....in this instance I think you've done something VERY special with this style of writing.....by engaging the reader with powerful references to mythology & legend on each & nearly EVERY line you give it breadth that otherwise would be near impossible ~ It's an excellent piece of legendary and poetic historical referencing!!…...ALL STARS & PINNED!!…..Bravo dear poet brother!!……..LOVE & ROCKETS!!…...T xo  : )
Ps. Too bad there aren't many people on here today....it deserves a LOT more attention then it's receiving right now!!

Thank you Tony I really appreciate it.  It's always interesting this site, but I have come to realise it constantly tests you and motivates you to tinker and try things differently from time to time.

Simon!  I love this dark write!  Your imagery is fantastic!  So much so that I could feel the flames!  I  usually wait until Halloween to write of monsters, murder and mayhem.  However, you have inspired me!  I've got to think about a it first...I do have a story in my head that's been floating around for a while.

Anyway great write!!!

Thank you kindly I am so happy to have inspired you ?.  I love writing about whatever comes to my mind first because i have suffered with writers block like so many of us have and so now I just go with whatever happens first, thank you again.

My Dear Friend Simon,

One "Hell" of a write.

Styx and stones, the river flows
In the Underworld, the sinner chose
He takes a ride on Charon's boat
Hades waits on him to dote

All my love,
Larry xxx
