HAIL TO THE CHIEF

Hail to the earthly created deity
The capitalist that is on a roll
Hail to the man-god
That eventually does so much wrong
Bow at his feet
Sunk into the pit
Of wanton excess
That fills the bank only temporarily
Bask in his glow
Whose radiance hides
Wrongs that may never be made legally right
But who has a strong following
Praise him
Whose values all uphold
For they think they will never lose
Nor the winning streak ever end
Glorify him
The shark that is both a bull and a bear
Who tricks even the authorities
But is caught out by ambitious lies
The genie with the midas touch
Is but a mortal
Who feeds off of greed
Endemic in the system
Too late is the realisation
That his sparkle can dim
Some lose everything
All create a suspicious din
He will end up slain
As the unlucky few do
Blamed for omens that none did see
He will have eternal infamy
Poverty now ravages the trustworthy
No one was cautious
All believed the fantasy
Hype made everyone a lot of money
All is now laid bare
Profits are diving
Accountants are trawling
Governments are contemplating
Panic is spreading
He has long since fled
With a pot of bloodstained gold
Eventually he will be brought back
Into the capitalist fold
