HALLOWEEN SEASON

Carved out pumpkins 
Akin orangey glow 
Stood on porch
No place to go 
Nothing to do 
But watch the world 
Go by 
From the carved out shape 
You made with your knife
that crazy shape 
you now call its eye

Silly string 
made into cobwebs 
large plastic spiders 
hidden to scare us 
hands busting from the ground 
accompanied by eerie sounds 

costumes 
many a form 
scary monsters 
ghouls and ghosts
hockey masks 
of Jason myres
demons from the pits of hell 
little devils 
pitch fork in hands 
Jason standing 
Six foot tall
Plastic knife 
Held in his hand 

Witches in pointed hats 
With their broom 
Sits their black cats 
Cauldrons bubble 
Hear their spell 
Eye of newt 
And wing of bat 
 Piece of gum
And greasy fat 
Makes ones guts feel deflated 
Mind and spirit 
Elated
But that’s not all 
Sweeties baked into a pie 
Slice of demons eye 
Fingernails of an old troll 
From old to young now be told 
For this price 
Your soul betroved 

Kids playing knock a door run 
Trick or treat they say 
Just want to have some fun 
Give them all you have to eat 
A treat is better than the trick 
You could open your door 
To flaming dog sh..
Or cars egged and covered in flower 
A trick that could leave you cleaning for hours

This season brings out monsters galore 
So don’t be surprised 
When you get a knock at your door 
And you answer to someone 
With a hanging jaw 
Or a blood filled mask 
Or a female zombie 
With false boobs that sag 
Just remember they’re wearing  a mask 
And smile as they simply ask 
Trick or treat
