Are you happy?
Capture happiness in it's meaning
For some it's an awful long list
A combination
An explanation
These things All these things

But happiness is fleeting
A hurried sensation
Not justification
It is selfish ecstasy
Even when selfless
But it is temporary

Are you content?
Content is clinical and honest
Content is not a sensation or a feeling
It is not fleeting because it is a measurement
Security under the circumstances
Reward with minimal risk
You are content because you have something to lose
Something you'd rather not
As it comforts you
In spite of yourself

To be content is not to be happy
Because ecstasy cannot be measured
Adrenaline and risk in new arenas
Flirting is linked less to love
And more to danger
Danger is far from security
And to be content is to be secure

I'm so content with my lot.
