Happiness

Difficult because we think,
That happiness is found,

Only in places of wealth,

And fame,

And social media influence. 

And so we go on searching,

In places of pleasure,

Seeking recognition and,

Monetary treasure,

Sleep so late, searching for money,

Social media fame,

Hoping to get happiness.

Unaware that,

Happiness is a state of mind,

A state of content,

With the little you get,

A state of gratitude,

With every tiny bit of progress,

A state of wishing well,

For others.

And when you get it,

Make yours last,

Forget about the past,

Never fear that it'll go,

For it could always grow,

That's happiness.
