Happy Birthday America
.
Part I--Serious Beginning
.
Two hundred forty one years ago, in seventeen seventy six;
Brave men signed a Declaration, saying “Freedom now we pick”!
Atop the Hall of Independence, in Philadelphia, PA;
The Bell of Liberty pealed, “No more King, come whatever may”!
.
Of course, the rest we know is history, a great war then soon ensued;
The American Revolutionists, with the British had a feud!
It lasted over six years, many died for their beliefs;
But at it’s end, Cornwallis surrendered, giving up England’s Feudal Fiefs!
.
Another war would come later, in the year of eighteen twelve;
But again America beat them, with “Truth in evidence of ourselves”!
Then battle scars were healed, and our countries became dear friends;
We’ve fought side by side in several wars, for evil off to fend!
.
Part II--Happy Ending
.
Now each year on July the Fourth, we celebrate the Birth of the USA;
With family picnics and good friends, fireworks the fare of the day!
I remember when I was a young lad, “Two Inchers” were given to you;
But then as I got older I realized, that two inches would never do!
.
So from then on it was “Cherry Bombs”, that exploded very loud;
I felt they showed the power of my manhood, and that I was well endowed!
Then of course there were the “Silver Salutes”, even stronger than the last;
They’d bring me to full attention, my Flagpole at full mast!
.
But now I’ve gotten older, I watch the festivities on TV;
In the safety of our bedroom, with my wife right next to me!
But don’t think there are no fireworks, for “Cherry Bombs”, and “Silver Salutes” still explode;
And because it’s illegal to set them off in public, we do it in the privacy of our abode!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY AMERICA!!!!
GREAT WRITE LARRY ##
Actually, it's the same period when the Philippines won her independence too from the USA - July 4, 1946, following WWII, and it was observed until August 4,1964, when President Macapagal signed into law Republic Act 4166 designating June 12, as the country's Independence day, the day the Philippines obtained independence from Spain. Â But the declaration was never recognised by either US or Spain. Â
We owed the US too ## The Spanish period was characterised as " Reign of Greed ". Â 377 years of Spanish rule from March 16, 1521 to June 12, 1898;Â
Then on May 1898, the US defeated the Spaniards in the battle of Manila bay ending the Spanish occupation. Â
The American occupation lasted 48 years, from 1898 till 1946.Â

My Dear Leah,
Okay then. Â HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY PHILIPPINES!
Thank you for this informative history of your country. Â I have never been there, but know several people that have moved to the United States from there. Â In fact, a good friend of mine was married to a Philippine lady, and I went to many of their parties, where I sang Karaoke with these lovely people who always seemed to have a smile on their face and laughter in their hearts.
Hugs, Peace and Love,

My Dear Debs,
I am so happy that you were able to understand my intention an historical beginning, and a hysterical ending. Â That's what we do here in America, we end every July 4th with a "bang". Â Ha, Ha!!

My Dear Sweet Rose,
That's what we do here in America, in the beginning, we are very serious, but eventually, we laugh it off, and end things with a bang. Â So glad my Sweet Rose enjoyed this.
Love you too,
