Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

On the second Monday of October
we in Canada-- celebrate Thanksgiving Day
so happy holiday fellow 'Canucks'
as we eat and drink and give thanks
in celebration of the 'harvest';
Canada is more northern in the continent
so the harvest comes earlier here eh.
The history goes back as far as 1578
French and English explorers
celebrated just surviving the journey
from Europe to Canada.
And originally called the day;
The 'Order of Good Cheer'
Turkey, Pumpkin Pie and most
'traditions' associated with
American Thanksgiving are upheld
in Canadian Thanksgiving as well;Â
overeating long naps and obnoxiousÂ
relatives; no names mentioned here
So with glasses raised
(Madjack hard apple cider for me)
...to one and all
we celebrate tomorrow; today for me;
long story....
And yes, we celebrate friends peace
and all the freedoms we enjoy
Giving thanks always to Almighty God.
Happy Thanksgiving Canada!
Cheers!Â
