Harlequin

I am but a fool in the game of love
I cannot and will not rise above
What was to be a simple act of flirtation
Only to realize it to be my ruination
Subtle cares
How Cupid stares
When I have shown my intrigue
It turns into vanity
Such insanity
The one who caught my heart
She looked at my callousness
I could not make a sound
For I was only bound
For descension
With but a faint apprehension
Of acceptance
That I committed sin
As a harlequin
