Harlequin

Jovial masks dwelt behind,
Stardust deems a world blind.
Bedazzled twinkle on display,
Pseudo scrutiny fades away.
A facade of deception conceived,
Fooling one's self till it's believed.
Hopelessness wept a thousand tears,
Morose eyes camouflage fears.
When a harlequin mask slips,
Razzle-dazzle facetious quips.
So society finds comfort behind,
Their own masks designed.

Excellent poem Lisa, it's very easy to don these masks but they can be difficult to remove.

Hi lisa hope you're well...I really love this poem...that mask we all have them for so many things...its nice to just take it off and be real for a moment before quickly slipping it back on for the rest of the world to see how completely normal we all are ...brilliant xx

Hey! I'm so disappointed. I put out an in-depth thesis on the aging process of the chicken, on The Unstable Chicken(or something like that, I can't remember the actual name), and you snubbed me egregiously, but in a nice way. C'mon, I got 5 comments(one from the awesome Cheerie, and 4 from me! lol). You know I already feel like a wicked outsider on this site, I need your sense of humor...it's warped. lol.Β
Kidding(I wouldn't comment on me either...even though I do).Β
Awesome poetry my friend.Β
