Hats Off To Larry

I stopped in Chattanooga, around eight on Monday night;

I was driving down the highway, and feeling all up tight!

I went to a Japanese restaurant, to have a little fun;

To drink sake, and eat sushi, in the “Land of the Rising Sun”!

I walked in and the large bar was almost filled up, drinks and sushi were half price;

I found a spot and mingled in, next to a couple that looked real nice!

We struck up a conversation, and found out we all love our precious dogs;

And just like me, they’d lost their dearest, and were having trouble sawing logs!

For my precious angel “Nico”, sixteen months have passed;

For their dear doggie “Larry”, eighteen since they kissed him last!

We all told some sacred stories, and toasted to the sky;

As we wished them well in Heaven, and shared a little cry!
