The Hawks

The Hawks-

they circle above

scouting out

a dead animal;

or me-

for I am dead inside.

And all this pain i feel

all these words I dare not say

they eat me alive

and so i cannot survive.

I've fallen so

in the depth of despair

that I don't even care

whether The Hawks-

pick my bones clean-

a now fallen queen.

Who am I to contest?

that of nature's course-

oh i cannot withstand the force-

so I'll lie here and wait

for The Hawks to seal my fate.
