Hazey Reflection

Hazey Reflection

When I look at my reflection I can't see what you admire, nappy roots and dark brown skin isn't much to be desired, but if you smile when I speak, hand me the moon when it's just out of my reach, be a gentlemen and hold my belongings, or give me a kiss in the center of my cheek, that means more to me than the sweet word you speak. I wish I could see me through your eyes when they're not cloudy with deception, blinded by the image of your reputation, or polluted from all the different kind of smoke that you exhaled before you spoke. A hazey mind can reveal the realty just like a drunk toung tells the truth. But will you tell me what I need to hear or wisper meaningless sweet nothing's in my ear. When I fall asleep in your arms and we're awakened by the morning sun will you look at me and think that a new life has finally begun, or realize that your last night just ended. Had you intended to hold me as close as you could or were you just pretending. Do you look into my eyes and see the real me or what the hazey reflection told you I could be.
