Hazy Mountain Tops

Hazy Mountain Tops

The mountain rendered calm at the sudden attack of the snow.
It didn't shake, it did not quiver.
And even as the fog set in and sloped over every highest point, the mountain still stood.
As the people began to invade and ride its paths the white ocean of snow made, still the mountain stood and didn't fall away.
But as the fog cleared, the rain came.
The snow turned to slush and eventually the mud showed its stain.
The people left and so did you.
But just like the mountain, I still stand firm.
And even if you were the things that left, I know within myself, that I never needed you.
I just wanted you.
Like the candy on the shelf I couldn't get.
Like the how the mountain wanted the sun, it wasn't its time to shine yet.
