He leaves

Without a word

He leaves

We laughed,
We played and cooked.

I smelt his flowers and he kissed my neck.
I giggled as he teased,
He wriggled as I pleased,

The sun began to rise,
We lay with our own playlist of sighs,
We slumbered, all flat,
He got up, and that was that.

No giggles, no cooking, no word or no sighs,
Just a never ending variation of more lies,

He's gone with the changing of the season,
The red hue gnarls through the leaves and I'm left with no reason.

Perhaps I was a shiny gold token,
But the promises he made have now left me broken.
