Head Case
The In-depth Levels of a Woman's Mind

Have you signed the waiver form?Â
Safety Induction? Medical? Check… Check…Â
Now watch your head on entry……Â
And also watch your step.
Although dimly lit to enter…
Many corridors and levels to explore.Â
Like a Willy Wonka Experience...Â
Not knowing what’s behind the door.Â
To the left an Angel, the right a Devil…Â
Both dancing to tunes at a compromised level.
Splashes of pink, red, blue, black and purple…Â
A schoolgirl still learning sits in a witches circle.Â
Up a level, and divulged to allure…Â
Up here is X-Rated, nothing is pure.Â
And over there is a beautiful wife…Â
Broken by a man that was once in her life.Â
Around the corner is the dance floor…Â
She’s rocking it so loud wanting more.Â
Down the corridor is a mother tending her child…
Always to protect them, a lioness in the wild.Â
The corridor leads to a startled crowd…Â
Watching her mood swings screaming out loud.Â
She’s a worker, a mother, a girlfriend, a hoe…Â
She’s a daughter, a sister, a friend and a foe!

Interesting poem, full of outstanding metaphors!Â
Now watch your head on entry……Â
And also watch your step.
I can honestly say, I'm not sure where I was being taken to in the story.Â
At first, it seems like a person getting a medical procedure done, like an x-ray. Then I was taken by another metaphor at the very end.Â
Favorite Stanza:Â
Around the corner is the dance floor…Â
She’s rocking it so loud wanting more.Â
Down the corridor is a mother tending her child…
Always to protect them, a lioness in the wild.Â
Well written. I'd like to see another stanza or two with added details about the place and person in the poem.Â
Happy Holidays from Newark, Ohio

I've added a subtitle to the poem which hopefully explains the story. Merry Christmas from Australia xx
Thank you. That makes the entire poem read better.
A woman's mind is rather abstract.Â
I like this line:Â
Watching her mood swings screaming out loud.Â
I'm glad I returned to re-read.Â
Great job.Â
