Healing

I'm at a crossroad,
my dad is getting better,
He's been more calm,
But it's still hard,
I still think about everything,
The abuse...
The trauma...
I'm trying to forgive him,
But maybe I need to to forgive myself first,
Forgive myself for holding on to the pain for so long ,
Maybe if I forgive myself I can, forgive him too,
Either way time will heal all wounds,
Just got to let go of the pain I felt in the past and look towards the future.

Hello Teresa...

Having to forgive a parent is a lot like having to forgive a Spouse or A Best Friend...

Those to me hurts the worse when they hurt you compared to someone who might hurt your feelings but, they're not difficult to forgive and move on without them...

If that makes sense...

If it wasn't your fault which you being the child should automatically release you...

You may have to figure yourself about something else...

It could also be because it stemmed from the pain from the initial hurt...

When it comes to a parent remembering no one's perfect...

If he didn't hurt you, you would have always believed he was...

One day he would no matter what disappointed you...

Back to the...

No one's perfect...

I'm sure you know when you forgive something horrible done to you...

It's for you it's not for them...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...
