Heart In a Box

Sick, mangled reflections,
Mirror, Mirror on the wall;
Revealing ghastly infections,
Who's the sickest of them all?
A broken heart within a box,
A man wielding an axe;
His search for her will never stop;
He must bring her heart back.
She stumbles through brambles,
Thorns prick her pallid flesh;
Such a sickening example,
Of a senseless, selfish death.
Her lungs burn with exhaustion,
But a breath could cost her life,
So she proceeds with caution;
Running deep into the night.
The woods around her thicken,
Her eyesight becomes weary,
Her thoughts become fear stricken;
Her fate is looking dreary.
Why must She quest for innocence?
A heart of purity and truth?
A malevolent dependence,
Lies deep within Her roots.
An evil Queen awaits in haste,
She screams for poignant murder,
A virgin heart she yearns to taste;
No guilt will ever irk her.
The Axeman searches night and day,
But to no avail,
The bearer of this deadly fate;
Has slipped behind a veil.
Poisoned by a mere facade,
She bit deep into the trap,
Within her chest a blade is lodged;
As she endures a mournful nap.
Her precious heart no longer beats,
No Prince shall kiss her lips,
She has succumbed to defeat;
And her Prince does not exist.
Encased within a tomb of glass,
Displaying pallid skin,
No questions have they dared to ask;
Of this narcissistic sin.
Deep within the wooded glades,
Far into the trees,
Rests the Beauty of this escapade;
For all the tearful eyes to see.
Some say they have seen her breathe,
Some say they've seen her smile,
Her sleeping soul can't be retrieved,
With no heart to reconcile.
Forever she will rest in peace,
On her heart, the Queen has choked,
Malevolence is now deceased;
And her throne has been revoked.
Pure, snow white reflections,
Mirror, Mirror on the wall,
Revealing no imperfections;
In the face fairest of all....
