Heart shaped
Coffer caressed
Sanctified with
Angst confessed.
Aplenty times
I've oft spoke
To mahogany
Grains I stroke
There endures
Reminiscence past,
Β Promises bound
To last.
Until death
Do us part,
Engraved on
Bereft heart.
Sometimes it's
Grief thatβll hold,
Treasures more
Priceless than gold.
Aches that burn
Deeper than pain,
When, only
Ashes remain.

Hi Lisa,
Your poem conveys the missing of a loved one very well. I can very much relate to this piece. The end is very well written.
Take careΒ - Syd xoΒ
thank you Syd, so nice to see you grace my page
This is strong stuff, indeed. I try to avoid falling into the pit, but the resolve is none too strong. Grief for my vanished twin sits just as deep in my soul as written by you, so deep I will fall easily. Yet my wife keeps me on my feet. I balance the hurt with love, but this poem touches the event horizon and I thank thee for it lest I would forget. Keep writing, you reach out in eays unimaginableΒ
Bless youΒ
thank you John. my condolences to your plight
