Heart Shaped Box

He keeps all of his love in a heart shaped box
Careful that nobody can pick the locks
　
Just what is it he is looking for?
Somebody that can give a little more
　
Cobwebs hang from his window sills
He needs someone to cure his ills
　
His nights are always lonely and long
He has got to find some way to belong
　
Walks alone till the end of the day
Wonders when things are gonna go his way
　
The mighty river turns and winds
Why does life have to be so damned unkind?
　
Fears his loving heart may turn to stone
The longer he walks this earth all alone
　
While lying under the moon and stars
He counts his many battle scars
　
Life can certainly be a tough game
Is there anyone out there who feels the same?
　
As for glasses of wine he’s had a few
Where are all those by gone days he once knew
　
Love’s just got to come his way
Or in a heart shaped box his love will stay
