Heartbeat

Heartbeat

he breathed
anew
giving of
himself
without
reservation
as he
slowly
opened her
heart
filling in
the empty
spaces

butterflies
danced
fluttering
to the
glorious
melody
of this
beautiful
grand
awakening

vulnerability
bands
release
as the fear
of love
and pain
have ceased

looking
him in
the eyes
she takes
him by
the hand
slowly
opening it
as she feather
kisses
each finger
placing her
heart
right in
the center

she carefully
closes it
never wanting
a day or
moment
to ever
linger
without
letting him
know
through his
own heart
and love
did he not
only make it
beat again
but...
that heartbeat
belonged
to him
