Heavy

One symptom. One diagnosis. No cure.

Heavy

I never knew things could feel so
Heavy
Not enough to crush
But enough to strain
Enough to feel sore
But not enough for true pain
It's all so
Heavy
And straining
But who am I to be complaining?
It doesn't hurt it just makes me tired
And dull
And ready to fade away
And I'm not saying it's the worst
Not saying I'm fed up
Not saying I'll quit
When the going gets tough
I just didn't realise things would ever get
Heavy
And I'm sure I can take it
So just let me
It's not the worst I've been through
It's not the worst I've felt
I can say it's not heaven
But I doubt that it's hell
So I'm stuck in purgatory
Not hurting but not okay
So Doctor here's my symptom
It's all I have to say
I'm not running a fever
My throat sure isn't sore
There's just a lot of pressure
And I can't take it anymore
It's all just so...
Heavy

Maybe that's why you keep hurting me
Because I'll never stay...

You, the fire. Me, the wood.

I guess you could say this was a toxic relationship.

Like fire and wood
Together we burned
Perfect together
Until I realised you hurt...
